HIRING A SHIP

OOC Process

Normal usage can just be handwaved. If you're setting up an exploration mission or are planning something otherwise unusual, please PM this journal first so I can know if Banzu's going to be out of town for an extended period or if he'll experience something strange.

IC Process

Characters will need to contact Banzu to book a date and time for a trip (this can be handwaved). If anyone else has already booked a trip at a similar time, he'll suggest joining that group if there's still room so he's making fewer trips in a day. Payment is up front, and Pokémon don't come along for free unless they're small and not a bother to anyone.

Banzu will be clear beforehand that any damage caused to the ship will need to be paid for in full by those responsible, or by those responsible for the perpetrator if it's a Pokémon or very small child. Anyone with payment owing will be barred from riding again until they pay. If no one owns up to the damage, every passenger will be responsible for the full cost of the damages and they will all be barred from riding until either they all pay or someone admits to the damage and pays their share.

Currently, a two-way trip to the tropical island aboard the Pathfinder takes a bit over two hours each way and costs $50 per passenger. If more than 12 passengers want in on a trip, they'll be informed that there won't be seats for all of them and that they may want to go on a different trip if that matters to them. Depending on his schedule, Banzu may or may not stick around while the passengers are on the island and will instead return to pick them up at an agreed-upon time.

Exploration missions, trips that have an unusual timeframe (overnights, especially), and anything other than the standard passenger trips will have higher costs that may vary depending on various factors, including duration and potential danger. Banzu will be fair about how much he charges, but that doesn't mean he'll come cheap.
