The Port
THE PORT |

Located within sight of the western bank of the westernmost branch of the river, the port is currently a simple affair with minimal capabilities. It currently consists of a wooden palisade surrounding a large wooden main building with a short tower protruding from the roof, a small shed containing a small power generation system, and a stone pier, with an open yard leaving room for some future expansion.
If you want to run an event or build something in or near the port, please PM this account so I can have Banzu react appropriately.
Gate: A structure that provides the only way through the palisade aside from swimming. It's a pair of thick wooden gates with an open space between them that forms a sort of airlock. The gates lock with a mechanism that requires no key and is simple to operate for anyone with opposable thumbs, but quite difficult for those who don't. The gates can additionally be barred from the inside with thick beams. A sign reminds visitors to ensure that only one gate is open at a time.
Yard: An open space enclosed by the palisade. There are covered stacks of extra building materials here set on blocks, but nothing else of note.
Pier: A long stone pier with mooring posts that extends into the ocean.
MAIN BUILDING | |

Banzu's Office: Under most circumstances this is the only part of the main building most people will ever see. The office is a room containing a desk, a pair of couches, and a coffee table. There are coat-hooks by the exterior door and a metal model of the Pathfinder on a low shelf to the side. The room and the furniture within it look quite nice in a way that some might recognize as "I want this to look good but not cost me much" if they're familiar with such things, but the room has no "soul". It's generically formal and professional but says nothing about its owner other than that he wants to project a formal and professional appearance. There are no diplomas, family pictures, or sentimental objects; what knick-knacks and decorations there are seem to be present solely because they're expected to be. |
Pokémon Room: This is where most of Banzu's Pokémon sleep when he's at the port, assuming they aren't staying in the Pokémon habitat in Union. It's a simple and somewhat bare room containing whatever bedding and items Banzu's Pokémon decide to put in it.
Workshop: The workshop is a large two-story room with skylights in the peaked roof. Workbenches, materials, and tools are against the walls, with the open space in the middle reserved for larger projects.
Drydock: The drydock is a large two-story room with skylights in the peaked roof and a large set of doors at the seaward side. The room is almost completely filled with the drydock cradle, leaving a five-foot-wide ledge on each of the long sides and a 15-foot-wide ledge on the side opposite the seagate. Its design makes it exceptionally difficult to enlarge at a later date. Until the harbor is further dredged, ships can only enter or leave the drydock at high tide.
Living Quarters: This is a place that almost no one will ever see. This is Banzu's private space and contains a kitchen area, a simple armchair, a basic table and chair, a drafting table, storage cabinets for food, and multiple bookshelves filled with various books and items, most of them of a technical or non-fictional nature. What fiction there is on the shelves is primarily related to science-fiction and seafaring. Despite having access to much more space than he would in Union, Banzu's quarters are modest in both size and design, with neutral colors and no attempts to make the furniture anything but functional or even match.
Banzu's Bedroom: This room contains a messy bed, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. There's really only enough space to contain the furniture and leave a bit of floor space to get dressed in. There aren't any decorations here; this is strictly a room for sleeping and storing clothes.
Maintenance Space: It's a stretch to call this an actual floor, as it occupies the peak of the roof over the living quarters and isn't full-height. It exists solely to allow relatively easy access to the pressure tank above the living quarters.
Tower: Located on the roof of the main building and accessed through the spiral staircase, the tower is a small cupola with a wrap-around balcony and a small protruding deck that could be used as a landing platform for a flier. It's high enough to see a fair distance from. There's enough space inside for a couple of chairs or a cot, but not much else, since the top of the spiral staircase takes up most of the floor space. |
Generator Shed: Located out of sight between the main building and the palisade on the river side, this structure contains the small steam turbine generator that provides power to the main building, as well as the pump that brings in river water. The generator is only run when needed to recharge batteries due to the fuel and work requirements necessary to operate it.
